Anas Ahmed Amr, PhD, Msn, CNS,
CPHM, VBHC, ISQua-F

A healthcare professional with over 22 years of extensive experience in patient safety and healthcare quality. I hold a master’s degree in critical care nursing and am currently a Ph.D. candidate exploring the economics of patient safety. I am a Certified Professional in Healthcare Management (CPHM), a certified professional in value-based healthcare- yellow belt, and an ISQua Fellow. My expertise spans critical care, quality improvement, patient safety, healthcare management, and professional development. I serve as a Patient Safety and Quality Consultant, bringing valuable experience from my role as a senior patient safety specialist, director of patient safety culture programs, manager of patient safety programs and collaboration at the Saudi Patient Safety Center (SPSC).

I am certified as a Just Culture champion and trainer and have significant experience as a hospital accreditation surveyor for the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI). I actively contributed to the healthcare community as an executive board member of the Saudi Critical Care Society and through memberships in various professional organizations, including ISQua, SCHS, JNC, and others. I have authored numerous publications and frequently speak at national and international conferences. My commitment to patient safety is further demonstrated through my role as a responsible officer at the WHO Collaborating Center for Patient Safety Policies and Strategies under the SPSC.

My dedication to patient safety stems from my extensive clinical and leadership roles in healthcare. My journey began in critical care nursing, where I witnessed firsthand the crucial importance of safety protocols and quality care. In various roles at the Saudi Patient Safety Centre, I have demonstrated a commitment to systemic improvement in healthcare safety. Furthermore, I actively shaped patient safety policies and standards as a responsible WHO collaborating center officer and CBAHI surveyor. My work extends beyond individual patient care to creating sustainable safety systems and fostering a culture of safety across healthcare institutions.

I see the Network as an opportunity to bridge gaps between different healthcare systems, sharing best practices that can be adapted to various settings. Having been involved in numerous WHO initiatives, I'm particularly excited about the prospect of contributing to global patient safety campaigns and helping develop practical solutions for common challenges. Together, I believe we can create a more robust, patient-centered healthcare system that truly prioritizes safety and engagement at every level.
