About PFPS US

Patients for Patient Safety US (PFPS US) is a non-profit organization led by people who have personally experienced the devastating impact of medical errors, either as patients ourselves or in our families. We are a non-partisan network of dedicated individuals and organizations united in the mission to enhance patient safety for all Americans. Zero preventable harm in healthcare is our aspirational goal. Together, we strive to create a healthcare system that prioritizes the safety and well-being of every patient in the United States.

PFPS US is the US branch of an international network of patient safety advocates, implementers, policy makers, researchers and educators that work in alignment with the World Health Organization’s Global Patient Safety Action Plan.  Through the international Patients for Patient Safety community, we share knowledge, learn from one another and spread solutions.  Our North Star is the London Declaration, a pledge of partnership that has guided our work since the formation of the Patients for Patient Safety in 2005.
