As both a patient and a physician specializing in radiology, I have a unique perspective on the healthcare system. Over the years, I have encountered suboptimal care firsthand, gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges patients face when seeking safe, effective, and compassionate treatment. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to advocate for improved patient safety and to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and those they serve.

In my role as a member of the radiology quality team, I have witnessed how safety events can impact both patients and the medical community. I have dedicated significant efforts to reducing errors and improving processes within my field. However, despite these efforts, success is often elusive, revealing the complexities of systemic challenges in healthcare. These moments have driven me to explore new approaches to enhance patient safety and build a culture of accountability and collaboration.

I am passionate about engaging directly with patients to identify problems, co-create solutions, and advocate for meaningful change in medical culture. Joining the Patients for Patient Safety initiative allows me to work at the intersection of my roles as a patient and a physician, uniting diverse perspectives to drive safer, more patient-centered care. Together, I believe we can transform healthcare into a system that prioritizes safety, transparency, and trust.
